Here’s something incredibly silly: on my Discord I’m running a March Madness pigment bracket!
Throughout March, I will poll the group 1-2 times a day on their favorite of two pigments, with the winner going on to “fight” other winners.
We are starting with incredibly similar pigments, but they will get less and less similar. So far, Phthalo Blue Green Shade has smashed Phthalo Blue Red Shade with 82% of the vote.
There are 50 “participants” in the bracket. To fill the bracket, I started with Handprint’s Top 40, but I dropped the discontinued pigments and added a few additional pigments (starred) that I like or that are popular around here. In some cases I split one Handprint entry into two, as in the Phthalo Blues. (By the way, we also had a failed attempt to decide between Ultramarine Blue and French Ultramarine, which ended up with a 50-50 split, so I just put Ultramarine Blue in the bracket; it will just have to include both shades.)
