About Triadvent
Today I drew:
- Daniel Smith – New Gamboge (PY97, PY110)
- Holbein – Pyrrole Rubin (PR264), aka Pyrrol Crimson
- Holbein – Phthalo Blue Red Shade (PB15)

Yet another fortuitous triad: this is basically a traditional red, yellow, blue! This is very much what I was taught as the primary colors. I suppose I might have expected the yellow to be cooler, but a warm yellow goes along with this also as “warm color” alternative to the CMY triad.
I loved the autumnal reds/oranges and pine greens that I got from this color wheel, so I chose an autumn tree scene. Actually, this is quite close to my autumn triad. I had picked Quin Red (PR209) for the red because it makes such great oranges with a warm yellow, but the Pyrrole Rubin is arguably a better choice because its oranges are good enough in context and it also provides those deep crimsons.
